Fábrica El Submarí and Can Ricart, Lacònica/La Cònica, on behalf of the association, present the rehearsal of the concert I CHING with Àngel Pereira.

1999

La Escocesa becomes a creation centre with a diverse group of artists. Due to the situation in Poblenou, the artists of La Escocesa form an association to defend the creation spaces of the area, and thus the Associació d’Idees was born in 1999, and legalized on March 22, 2000.

2000

February:

Nou Art Per La Escocesa: Fàbrica Can Felipa. The exhibition includes recent works by eleven members of La Escocesa, with Marisa Abdalà, María Algara, Marc Capilla, Carlos Cortiles, Eliza Donald, Gretta Gibney, Luisa Guedea, IMMANT Aparadors, Germán Portal, Juan Francisco Segura and Lacònica/La Cònica.

Participation in the 3rd Autumn festival “Escena Poblenou” on the 17th October with the performance of Lacónica / La Cónica in La Escocesa.

September:

Participation in the Festa Mayor del Poblenou, on the 17th and 18th of September with an exhibition of paintings and sculptures, music, children’s workshop, and Radio Escocesa: broadcast and commentary on the spaces of the old factory.

2006

The website of the collective artists of La Escocesa is created: www.laescocesa.org

La Escocesa becomes property of Renta Corporación and the Barcelona City Council Barcelona receives two buildings which are allocated for municipal use.

April:

Fiesta de La Superescocesa

On the 23rd of April, the Fiesta de La Superescocesa with an information desk on the Rambla del Poblenou, concerts by Canyamon and Regge Night Reunión, circus spectaculars with Camille a des Ailes, dance from Alejandro Rangel and Siscu Delgado, and a small shadow display with co. Lacónica/La Cónica; Intervention by the Diablos del Poblenou.

The Associació d'Idees/La Escocesa presents to the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona a project for the continuation of La Escocesa as a centre of creation.

The General Services Management and Territorial Heritage Coordination team of the Barcelona City Council authorizes the private use of building 2 at La Escocesa to the Associació d'Idees, with the purpose of developing the statutory activities of the association subject to temporary conditions.

CEIP de la Mar Bella. The Associació d'Idees opens the inauguration ceremony of the May Fiestas del Poblenou with the show RE-CÍCLIC, a commissioned performance made by the artist Joan-Marc Batlle with the collaboration of the artists resident in La Escocesa.
