paula garcía-masedo

(Madrid, 1984) Through sculpture, she approaches the sensitive expression of matter, paying attention to the technopolitical, genealogical, affective and living chains in which it exists immersed. Material culture beats in relation to her practice, as a mode of relation and inscription in the world and in particular communities and places. She addresses form from a materialist approach that begins with the formative process of the material and goes as far as its spatial arrangement, understanding both in connection, linked to specific aesthetics and politics of feeling and existing.

Architect by ETSAM (2011) and Master in Advanced Architectural Projects (2013), she completed the Independent Studies Programme at MACBA (2018).

Her work has been presented at La Capella, Fabra i Coats, CA2M, TEA, La Casa Encendida, CentroCentro, Museu del Disseny de Barcelona, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Madrid, Blueproject Foundation or the Sandretto Foundation. She curated Las voces del GPS, at CentroCentro (Madrid), and projects at the galleries Liga DF (Mexico City) and Monoambiente (Buenos Aires). In 2014-15 she co-directed the annual cycle of exhibitions of Madrid Institute of Architects.
